Xander's Two Year Check Up

Xander passed his two year well-child check-up quite well--no shots too :) Although we did have him dosed with Tylenol just in case. He's on the charts! Weight he was almost at the 5th percentile and in terms of height he's between the 10th and 25th. Hooray! His weight has been a constant concern at the spina bifida clinic so I'm happy to see he's now on the charts. Guess all the butter on his waffles helped.

Xander has his 2 year doctor appointment tomorrow. I'm almost excited as I really like our doctor and I like bragging up Xander :) His speech has just been exploding. He's up to 3-4 word sentences. Today Dominick was mad at him and started calling him names--big bad five-year-old names like stupid poo-poo head etc. Xander started adamantly proclaiming "I AM Xander!" Since Dom was getting a rise out of him the teasing continued with lovely proclamations like, "You're dumb" "I hate stupid baby dummies." So Dominick and I had a talk about saying not nice things and what stupid and dumb meant--not smart was the best I could come up with. Well Xander must have been listening because the next time Dominick called him dumb Xander countered with "I'm smart!" Blue's Clues has been teaching him well. Whenever we tell him he's cute he adds that he's smart too.

Spring!

I just couldn't resist sharing this picture. I took Daniel and Stacey's advice and decided Xander should be shirtless for blueberry night--still needed a bath as somehow his left forearm and back was blueberry striped!

The weather is so beautiful today! This afternoon Dennis took the boys for a wagon ride and they spent a large part of the time watching a tree being cut down. Exciting! While Dom was at school Dennis and I went to Newport on the Levee--not the most happening morning adventure. We did see a penguin and go over a bridge but at least now we know what's there if we want to go back with Dominick.

Xander has added a new phrase today-- This morning it was "I'm not drinking juice." Very clear and repeated several times. He kept it up with "I'm not going to Dater." "I'm not walking." Xander has definitely turned two!

Tomorrow we're going to drop Dennis off at Xavier and then the boys and I are going to the zoo. After Xander's nap we're going to pick up Dennis and then head to Indy for the MS walk and other fun with the family :)

I'm going to try posting here for a bit. They've updated the firewall at work so I can't update it as easily while working--we'll see.
